Lone Star Mustangs Informational Notes for Comets Fans

Columbus, OH -- As the Comets ready for the July 31 Women's Football Alliance (WFA) National Championship game against the Lone Star Mustangs fans have been wondering about the team.
Head Coach Hank Patterson said "The Mustangs are in the National Championship game having played well all season to reach the finals. They deserve our highest amount of respect and this is a great team we will be facing off against. Defense and offensively they have the package in place. They came out of a hard conference."
A review of the WFA website brings the following information for the Comet fans:
- The Mustangs placed 10 members on the WFA All American team.
- The Mustangs scored 208 points in the regular season for an average of 44 points per game.
- Defensively Mustang opponents scored 36 points. Four games were defensive shut outs.
- In the three playoff games preceding the National Championship the Mustangs combined for a 76 to 40 point ratio.
- The Mustangs bring a 10-0 record to the National Championship.
- The Mustangs have three women as assistant coaches.
- Brittany Bushman, QB (#8), has a QB rating of 117.7. She has attempted 78 passes and completed 43 for an average of 18.2 yards per catch and nine touchdowns.
Odessa Jenkins, RB (#3) and Brittany Satterwhite, RB (# 5) carry the offensive rushing load. Jenkins has amassed 731 rushing yards on 62 carries and has eight touchdowns. Satterwhite has 478 rushing yards and averages 8.5 yards per carry. She has found the end zone seven times.
Melissa Beach, WR (#86) leads the receiving corps with 13 receptions and averages 20.6 yards per catch.
Jennifer Hull (#4) leads the defensive unit with 54 tackles. DJ Gay (# 80) comes in as the Mustang sack master with three sacks.
