Columbus, OH -- The Columbus Comets finished the 2010 regular season on the road on Saturday, June 19 with a road trip to Toledo. In Toledo, the Comets played non-conference opponent Toledo Reign. In the first ever meeting between the two teams the Comets handedly won the game by a score of 65-0. This victory brings to the Comets a championship as the Women's Football Alliance (WFA) National Conference Mid-Atlantic Division Champions. Additionally, the 8-0 regular season record for 2010 marks the second year in a row that the team has not lost a regular season game. The Comets will take on the champion of the National Conference East Division and will play against the Baltimore Burn, after pairings were announced on Sunday by the WFA.

The game will be played on Saturday, June 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Huffaker Sports Complex, Grove City Christian High School, Grove City. While the Comets finished the season 8-0 the Burn enter the playoffs with a 6-2 record. Tickets for the playoff game will be available at the game site.

Head Coach Hank Patterson stated "We have worked hard to reach the playoffs and are on a fast track to prepare for this game. The Burn is an experienced team that has worked hard all year and had to win last week to get into the playoffs. I expect their veteran team to come ready to play and we need to prepare for the intensity that they will bring".

The Comets will practice on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the Huffaker Sports Complex. With this latest win the Comets are on a 16 game regular winning streak record. Coach Patterson has a 56-19 record.
