Comets Prepare During League Bye Week
May 27, 2010
Columbus, OH -- The Columbus Comets, who are 5-0 in the season, are in the midst of waiting for the Women?s Football Alliance bye week to finish. No teams will have games on May 29, 2010.
The Comets return to the gridiron on Saturday, June 5 at 2:00 p.m. The opponent will be non-conference foe the Kentucky Karma.
The Comets have recently come off a road win over the Cincinnati Sizzle on May 22. The teams defeated the Sizzle 68-6 and remain atop their division.
Of the early part of the season Head Coach Hank Patterson said "It was definitely a good stretch of games to have early in the season as it allowed us to really take a look at who our team is and what we need to do to become better.?
"I am happy that we are at 5-0 and that the wins got things rolling in the right direction, but all we can do is get ready, use this bye week to get ready to play our best game," he continued. "Columbus fans are expecting big things for us and we hope that we can continue to play strong in our game against the Karma. The Karma has always given us a tough game and we expect the same on June 5. ?We can continue to improve our skills and lessen the inconsistent play displayed in previous games in the following few weeks,? Patterson concluded.
On June 5, the game time is at 2:00 p.m. which is a change from the usual kick-off time of 7:00 p.m. It is the final regular season home game for the Comets.
