Comets Beat Pittsburgh, Now 3-0

Columbus, OH -- The Columbus Comets got off to a slow start on Saturday, May 8 in game three against the visiting Pittsburgh Force. Once the black and blue running game ignited it led the teams to a 58-0 win over the Force. The game was played in cold and windy conditions at Huffaker Sports Complex and the Comets move into the fourth game at 3-0. The game ended with the Comets blocking a field goal attempt by the Force late in the fourth quarter.
The Comets have not allowed either 2010 opponent a score.
The Comets are on an 11 game winning streak.
Head Coach Hank Patterson moves his Comets coaching record to 47-17.
This was the fourth meeting between the two teams. The Comets have not lost to the Force in the four contests.
Quarterback Crystal Davis led the team in a balanced attack. Latrice Johnson entered the game in the fourth quarter and carried the team to additional scores.
Breanne Martin continues to run strong as she ran for 148 yards on nine carries. She had three touchdowns.
Other running performances were seen by Stephanie Stevens 11 carries for 129 yards and one touchdown,
Kirsten Auel ran for 108 yards and had one touchdown. Also balancing the running attack was Ayesha Jones with one touchdown off of 68 total yards.
Erica Englund pulled in three completions for a touchdown and 61 total yards.
Leading the stingy defense was Lindsay Rice with 11 tackles and two were for a loss in yards. Following her was Shelly Gates with 11 tackles and one interception, Christie Sabatucci with ten tackles and one sack, Dietra Sherwin with nine tackles.
Dietra Sherwin had three receptions for a total of 36 yards and two touchdowns. She also scored twice on two point conversion attempts.
Ebony Cullins defensively added three sacks.
