Women's Football AllianceDECEMBER 29, 2008 - The Columbus Comets are proud to announce that they have joined the new WFA (Women's Football Alliance). The Comets are one of 35 teams that make up the new league, which is the largest in the history of women's football.

"We are very excited about this new venture", says team owners Lori Davis and Diana Jones. The WFA has a lot to offer the ladies that have been giving so much of themselves over the years to play a sport that they love.

The league champions will receive rings, new custom uniforms and money to help with travel expenses to the game. The Comets, led by head coach Hank Patterson have had a winning season every year since their inception in 2003, and in 2007 were the Southern Conference Champions.
